Dr Pickup touring going great - September 28, 2009
We had a blast yesterday, doing our interlude between sets by legendary hippie rocker Jesse Colin Young, at Green Fair in Charleston. Stormed up to Pawleys Island Tavern to do the 8pm-midnight show. Good time with lots of Solid Gold Dancers. The fun continues this week Mon-Wed here in Charleston before heading to Camden for the 13th annual Downhome Blues Fest. You should be there!
Pee Dee Blues Bash website is up & running - September 26, 2009
Dr Pickup (guitar) - September 22, 2009
Dr Pickup arrives today from Paris and we are off & running for two weeks-plus of gigs.
www.dpickup.com for more info on this vivacious European bluesman.
LaMont Garner (drums) - September 22, 2009
The SCS band has existed in the Charleston area since 1985; we've had lots of personnel changes down through the years. In case you haven't seen LaMont Garner on drums with us lately, it is because he scored a gig playing six weeks with an R&B band in...(hold on)...Addis Ababa, Ethiopia @ the Sheraton Hotel. We just heard from him and he is safe & sound. An amazing experience! and couldn't happen to a nicer guy. His myspace page is
www.myspace.com/clamontg (which he will probably update with progress reports from Addis). Wow!
"Rockin' Adam" Parrott has signed on as our semi-fulltime drummer with substitutions by John "Turbo" Etheridge and Jerome Griffin.
